Choose the best Gatwick Airport parking to suit your needs

Customers use ParkCloud for airport parking again and again as we offer customers the best airport car parking at Gatwick and help find the right parking space for you, at the right price. Although we don’t just focus on cost, we help you find the right parking space.

If you have a lot of luggage then a car park that requires you to lug it a long way will slow you down. Equally, if you have an early flight and you’ve got far to travel to the airport, time is of the essence. Or if you’re flying from the north or the south terminal at Gatwick airport, it’s imperative to find a car park near there.

At ParkCloud, each visitor has their own budget and set of circumstances. This is why we cater for all parking options. These include:

  • On-site short-stay and long-stay car parking – most of them are located in close proximity to terminals (just check whether you are flying from the North or South terminal).
  • Park and ride – these are usually a bit farther out but there are regular shuttle services.
  • Meet and greet (sometimes called valet parking) – this is where you drive up, leave your car with one of the valets, and they’ll do the rest. The cars are driven to a secure location so you’ll have peace of mind that you’ll get it back just as you left it.
  • Hotel parking – this is perfect if you’re travelling on early flights with a long way to go to the airport.

Gatwick on airport parking

The on-airport parking is in close proximity to the airport and there is even a free monorail between the North and South terminals, so if you do park at the opposite terminal to your flight, there is at least transport on hand to get you to where you need to be.

However, the luxury of parking right next to the terminal does come at a slightly inflated cost, especially if you book the premium service, which couldn’t get you much closer. But you could always negate this cost by booking in advance and saving up to 60%.

Terminal Car Park Approx. distance Transfer duration Transfer frequency Price per day from
North Short Stay North 0.8m 2 min walk £29
Gatwick Airport Long Stay North 0.8m 5-10 min walk Every 10-12 min £8
Premium Parking North 0.8m 2 min walk £31
South Short Stay South 0.9m 2 min walk £24
Gatwick Long Stay South 2m 4-5 min walk Every 7-10 min £7
Premium Short Stay South 0.8m 2 min walk £29

Please note it is no longer allowed to pick up passengers by driving right up to the doors at either the North or South terminal. To pick up a passenger the most easy and cost effective place to park is the Short Stay North or Short Stay South car park.

The good news is there are still designated areas at both terminals where you can drop passengers off for free. If dropping passengers off at the North Terminal and the South Terminal you need to head for the drop off zone located on the lower level forecourt, it is well signposted. Of course if you want to go into the airport terminal for a longer goodbye you’ll need to use the short stay car parks.

Gatwick park & ride

The park and ride is one of the cost-efficient options. You can drive up to your allocated space, take your time to make sure you’ve got all your luggage and then hop on the regular buses. They stop off at all terminals.

The car parks are manned 24-hours a day and at Gatwick, they’ve been awarded the Park Mark standard, indicating a car park has taken significant steps to ensure your car is safe during your holiday.

Gatwick meet & greet / valet parking

At Gatwick, this couldn’t be easier. Drive up to the dedicated valet parking bay that is nearest your terminal. One of the members of staff will greet you, and walk you through to check-in. They will then park the car safely and return it to you when you get back.

Obviously, such a tailored service does come with extra cost, but the peace of mind and convenience often makes this an appealing option.

Whichever option you decide is best for you, there are numerous benefits to booking in advance. As aforementioned, there is the possibility of saving up to 60% but booking in advance also gives you a better chance of securing your choice of parking.

Are Blue Badges valid at Gatwick Airport car parks?

In both the long-stay and short-stay car parks there is a good choice of disabled spaces. In the short-stay multi-story car parks these are clearly signed and are near accessible routes into the terminals. There is also assistance available for those that need it.

Airport Hotels with parking

Choosing an airport hotel with parking package can be an excellent choice if you’ve a really early departure time or you live a long way away from the Gatwick airport. Choosing a comfortable hotel in close proximity to Gatwick Airport could see you completely refreshed and ready for your flight, knowing you car will be safely parked at the hotel waiting for you to return.

Gatwick Airport with Electric Car charging

Gatwick Airport continues to evolve. To this end, eight berths have been created for charging electric cars. These can be found in the short-stay car parks. It is possible to charge for free for up to four hours. In the coming years, expect to see more of these spaces added.

Gatwick Airport Information

It’s been 60 years since Her Majesty The Queen officially opened Gatwick Airport. Of course, a lot has changed in that time.

Back then, in 1958, it is estimated that 186,000 passengers used the airport; today over 45 million people fly from the popular London base each year. Gatwick is the UK’s 2nd busiest airport. With such vast numbers, it’s imperative that everything is in place to facilitate those arriving. That includes airport car parking.

More destinations can be reached from Gatwick than any other UK airport, so it’s no wonder so many people use it. In total there are over 282,000 flights each year. These go to 230 destinations in 70 different countries, including 63 long haul routes.

The most popular destination in 2017 was Barcelona, followed by Dublin, Malaga, Amsterdam, and Madrid.

The airport is split into north and south terminals. At each of them you will find plenty to do. There are restaurants like Nando’s, Wagamama, and Jamie’s Italian and plenty of shopping with brands like Ted Baker, Ray-Ban, and Next to discover.

How to get to Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport is very accessible by car being just situated off the M23 and only a few minutes by car from the M25. Make sure you use the right postcodes to get you to the right terminals in your sat nav: RH6 0NP for the South Terminal and RH6 0PJ for the North Terminal.
