Aberdeen is Scotland's third most populated city. Once known for its fishing, paper-making, shipbuilding and textiles today the city is best known for its ties to the oil industry.
Aberdeen is home to 45 parks and gardens and numerous impressive citywide floral displays which include two million roses, eleven million daffodils and three million crocuses. The city also has a wide range of cultural activities and museums that both visitors and residents to the city frequently enjoy. There are currently two universities in Aberdeen - the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University.
