ParkCloud's Park(ing) Day event raises nearly £600 for Stockport Mind

On Friday the 16th of September, ParkCloud participated in Park(ing) Day, an annual worldwide event temporarily transforming parking spaces into public places. Beginning in 2005 in San Francisco when a single parking space was converted into a temporary public park, Park(ing) Day has since evolved and expanded into a global event.  

 

ParkCloud dedicated the day to promoting the power of plants and raising nearly £600 for wonderful local charity, Stockport Mind. Turning the office's car park into an 'urban allotment' - the team grew plants in the lead up to the event, and went head to head to create the best green space. Growing plants has fantastic psychological benefits, can reduce stress and improve concentration, and the money raised by ParkCloud on Park(ing) Day will be used to help people affected by mental health issues in the Stockport and District area.  

 

Alongside the allotments, there was a BBQ enjoyed by local businesses, members of the community plus Stockport's Member of Parliament, Ann Coffey.
