ParkCloud exhibits at PDays in Florence

On the 9th and 10th of June the Italian Parking Association (AIPARK) held its biennial parking conference, PDays in Florence. Featuring an exhibition area, talks and discussions, the objective of the event was to promote the industrial sector of parking and urban mobility in Italy and internationally.

Located at stand 9, the ParkCloud team brought with them the popular ParkCloud car parking game and organised a meeting space. As well as creating new relationships, while at PDays ParkCloud saw some familiar faces from current collaborators. This included Turin-Caselle Airport, with whom ParkCloud has been working to offer over 2,500 spaces to all customers booking across a range of brand partnerships ParkCloud has in place, with airlines such as Blue Air, Vueling and Wizz Air. Several airports in Italy which ParkCloud will be announcing soon were also in attendance.

PDays featured a fantastic range of talks, workshops and discussions covering a wide range of subjects. Focusing on the needs citizens have every day, the topics centered on parking issues, development and innovation, urban mobility and the smart cities of today. Day one of the event was opened by outgoing President of AIPARK, Sara Venturoni of Metropark, alongside recently-elected president of the European Parking Association, Laurence Bannerman. Panels ParkCloud attended included 'The Auxiliaries and Urban Mobility: Solutions and Results' with speakers such as Denis Rambaud, Vice President of the Parking Commission in Paris.

The Technology Showcase was very interesting for ParkCloud as the conversation touched upon digitisation in car parks: innovative ways to pay for on-street car parks, such as using the internet, create a smoother experience for the customer, which could then also be integrated into car park buildings. Also discussed in the Technology Showcase was the idea that car park CCTV could be available directly to the end-user: accessed over the internet, the customer could check that their car is safe in the car park, giving them peace of mind.

Worthy of note was the venue in which PDays was held, Stazione Leopolda. An industrial yet beautiful location for this intimate event, Leopolda was the first ever railway station built in Florence, and the building still has many of its original features.
The congress concluded on the second day with the annual AIPARK assembly meeting, at which Massimo Vernetti of existing ParkCloud partner, Quick Parking, was voted in as new president. The unique location, a chance to exhibit and see faces old and new,  alongside interesting talks meant PDays was overall a fantastic event and ParkCloud looks forward to exhibiting at the next one.
